Overview
The Accounting Associate is responsible for performing the day-to-day book-keeping for each client and analyzing documents supporting business transactions. She/he will also be responsible for preparing and analyzing month end management accounts, preparing budgets and liaising with auditors regarding audits and tax computations.
Key areas of Responsibility
- Book-keeping of Clients’ Transactions
- Preparing Annual Clients’ Budgets
- Liaison with various Internal Departments
- Liaison with External Auditors
- Liaison with Clients
- Liaison with Local Registrar of Companies, VAT, TAX and Other Authorities
- Reporting to Local Authorities
Accounting
- Perform General Bookkeeping on Sage Accounting Software
- Perform Reconciliations and preparation of all necessary Reports in due time for month end and other deadlines
- Assist in planning for existing and new resources to meet Clients needs
- Assist in the preparation of Documents Supporting Client transactions
- Deal with any issues delegated by the Head of Client Management Department
- Draft of Board Resolutions, Minutes, AGMs, EGMs, and Agreements
- Prepare and submit chargeable work to Billing Department for issuance of Invoices on a monthly basis
- Liaise with Clients and Authorities in order to complete Audits, Liquidations of Companies, Tax Investigations, etc.
Sustainable management accounting
- Assist in the workings of the Accounting Operations
- Maintain Corporate, Invoice and Agreements Registers as well as Files Administration (electronic and hard)
- Manage the affairs of a Portfolio of Clients on an everyday basis
- Operate and manage the Financial Reporting of a Portfolio of Clients (including VAT, VIES, monthly and quarterly accounting)
Taxation
- Prepare Provisional Tax Assessments
- Prepare Corporate Income Tax Self-Assessment Estimations and Payments
- Prepare quarterly VAT Returns
- Prepare monthly VIES Returns
- Prepare bi-annual Special Defence Contribution Assessment
- Assist on Tax and VAT Audits and Investigations from the Auditors
Audit and assurance
- Use of CaseWare for the preparation of the Financial Statements under IFRS and Corporation Tax Return
- Liaise with Clients’ External Auditors
- Perform the collection of the Financial Information Process
- Review of the Financial Statements and Corporate Tax Return
Primary objective
Ensure that all financial matters are handled in a timely manner with full accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsible for
Handling all internal financial matters assigned and ensuring the highest level of service.
Education/Experience
- University Degree in Finance or related field as well as ACCA or ACA qualified
- Minimum of 5 years financial management experience in a similar role, within the Professional Services Industry and/or Financial Services Industry
- Knowledge of Sage Line 50 Accounting Software
Required Skills, Knowledge and Characteristics
- Fluency in the English and Russian language, knowledge of Greek is an advantage
- Analytical and financial management skills with focus on accuracy
- An understanding of Professional and Financial Services
- A self motivated individual, able to work independently and within a team
- Organizational, administration and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- The ability to communicate with individuals at all levels and of all cultures

- IT literate with good knowledge of Sage Line 50 and MS Office applications
