CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, one of Cyprus’ most well-known and highly regarded providers of Insurance related products and services, we are seeking to recruit a General Manager to lead their Non-Life Insurance function based in Nicosia. As the General Manager you will primarily be responsible for directing, coordinating & growing the Non-Life Insurance Business, developing a clear strategy for optimum performance while achieving growth targets within the strategic plan, risk appetite and ESG strategy, as set by the Board of Directors. Our client is seeking an applicant who is educated to degree level in either Insurance, Actuarial Science, Economics, Banking, Accounting, Finance, Business or another relevant field who possesses approximately 5+ years of proven experience in a leadership role within the Non-Life insurance industry. Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for directing, coordinating & growing the Non-Life Insurance Business.
- Develop a clear strategy for optimum performance while achieving growth targets within the strategic plan, risk appetite and ESG strategy set by the Board of Directors.
- Develop short-term and long-term action plans based on the strategy & objectives and customer value proposition of the Company.
- Identify new business opportunities.
- Determine areas needing digital transformation, cost reduction and process improvement.
- Put in place control mechanisms that enable achievement of high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that KPIs are embraced by the staff to ensure profitable and sustainable growth of the Company.
- Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values customer service and commitment to quality.
- Foster good working relations with the Supervisory Authorities and ensure compliance of all departments with applicable internal procedures, legal and regulatory framework.
Key Skills/Experience:
- An undergraduate degree in either Insurance, Actuarial Science, Economics, Banking, Accounting, Finance, Business or another relevant field.
- An MSc degree in a relevant field is desirable.
- Professional certifications including ACII, ACA, ACCA, CPA or similar will be considered advantageous.
- 5+ years of proven experience within a leadership position in the Non-Life Insurance field is essential.
- Technology savvy, with experience of driving digital transformation to improve operational efficiencies and customer experience is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills, flexible, assertive and result driven.
- Business acumen, strategic thinker with ability to make sound decisions for the business.
- Acute awareness of risk control and aversion.
- Fluency in both verbal and written Greek & English.
