Kanika Group of Companies based in Limassol, Cyprus, is expanding its operations and is looking to recruit an additional experienced Financial Manager that will empower Kanika Group to achieve its operational excellence and strategic growth goals.

Founded in 1975 Kanika Group has defined the fields of hospitality, construction and property development on the island. The Group currently employs around 1,500 team members and consists of two divisions: the hotels & resorts division and the construction & development division, which also include a property management company.

The Financial Manager is accountable for the effective operation of the Accounts Department relevant to the Construction & Development Division, ensuring that all the accounting records and transactions are accurate and in compliance with the relevant standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervises and provides overall direction and guidance to the Debtors and Creditors teams, ensuring timely and accurate completion of work.
  • Manages the financial accounting and reporting process and reviews the preparation of relevant calculations and accounting entries.
  • Ensures period end close activities are performed according to agreed close schedules and that accounting policies are in compliance with the applicable regulatory laws and policies for financial and tax reporting.
  • Prepares the standalone and consolidated management accounts and all other necessary management reports relevant to the Construction & Development Division.
  • Oversees transactions, investigates variances and proactively identifies potential issues to streamline and improve productivity and accuracy of the processes.
  • Reviews the debtors reconciliation and ageing analysis and liaises with debtors and other employees across the Group, as necessary, to follow up on unsettled and overdue amounts.
  • Reviews the processing of invoices and oversees the creditors’ payment cycle.

  • Acts as the key point of contact and manages relationships with Construction & Development and other Group functions, while maintaining continuous communication with external auditors.
  • Monitors and ensures the execution of tasks of the Construction & Development Division as per the policies and processes in place.
  • Oversees the training and development of the Debtors and Creditors teams allocated to the Construction & Development Division.
  • Provides feedback and is responsible for the performance appraisal of the Debtors and Creditors Teams Bookkeepers

Qualification and skills:

  • Qualified member of an accountancy body ACCA/ACA/CIMA
  • 2+ years post qualification experience
  • Good understanding of IFRS and experience in preparing management reports and financial statements in accordance to IFRS
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Energetic, highly motivated with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence
  • Proficient user of the Greek, English language (oral and written)
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel

€ 35 000 per year
