Laboratory Technician

We are now seeking a well-qualified and motivated professional to join our team for the full-time post of Laboratory Technician.

Main Responsibilities:

• Prepare clinical skills teaching sessions for all programmes offered by UNIC Health
• Maintain a clean and tidy clinical skills lab and storeroom, including equipment/manikin maintenance, inventories and service logs
• Ensure clinical waste is properly collected for official disposal
• Assist and support during biochemistry, biology, chemistry histology, microbiology, physics, and physiology practical sessions
• Assist medical students with SDL clinical skills practice during working hours
• Assist with OSCE (clinical skills assessment) setup and support
• Assist with receiving new equipment and consumables
• Follow the laboratory policies of the University of Nicosia, especially Health & Safety Codes

Requirements:

• Undergraduate science degree (minimum) postgraduate studies will be an advantage
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and command of the English language, both verbal and written
• Team player and attention to detail when independently preparing clinical skills sessions
• Proven ability to function in a demanding environment managing conflicting priorities
• Innovative thinker who is positive, proactive, and readily embraces change
• Ability to handle students professionally during all interfaces and at all levels of the organization
