CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an international, leading provider of storage solutions to the energy sector, we are seeking to recruit a Terminal Operator to join their growing team based in Larnaca. As a Terminal Operator, you will execute operational tasks related, but not limited, to loading and discharging activities, product movements, product handling and storage in general, as well as ongoing monitoring of terminal assets. An academic background related to Mechanical, Electrical and/or Chemical Engineering will be considered an advantage and you will ideally possess some previous experience working in a relevant role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Greek are essential. 24/7 rotational shift patterns apply for this position.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for executing all the operations of the terminal and ensures that all equipment, systems, and processes are functioning properly and in compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards.
• Execute all the product movements of the terminal to ensure safe and accurate deliveries. This involves using various equipment such as pumps, valves, hoses, and meters.
• Responsible for managing storage tanks and warehouses within the terminal.
• Monitor inventory levels, conduct inspections, and ensure proper storage conditions for different types of products or materials.

• Perform quality control checks to ensure that products meet the required specifications. You may conduct sampling and testing of products.

• Prioritize safety and security within the terminal.

• Enforce safety protocols, provide training to staff, and conduct regular safety inspections.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to operations, inventory, safety incidents, and regulatory compliance.
• Trained to act as first responders in case of emergencies such as spills, leaks, fires or accidents.

• Follow established emergency procedures, coordinate with relevant authorities, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks, protect personnel, and minimize environmental impact.

• Perform basic maintenance tasks and inspections on equipment, machinery, and infrastructure within the terminal.

• Identify and report any maintenance or repair needs to ensure operational efficiencies and prevent equipment failures.

• Stay up-to-date with applicable regulations and industry standards.

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety guidelines, and other legal requirements. This may involve maintaining permits, conducting audits, and implementing necessary corrective actions.

Key Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical) will be considered as an advantage.
• Previous working experience in a relevant role is highly desirable.
• Excellent knowledge of the Greek and English language, both verbal and written.
• IT literate with excellent use of Microsoft Office.
• Solution-oriented approach.
• Strong team player with strong collaborative skills.
• Attention to details.
• Flexible and adaptable.
• Ability to work to rotational shift patterns (24/7).
