CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an expanding Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licenced by the Central Bank of Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Head of Group Financial Reporting to join their growing team based in Nicosia. The chosen candidate will have a key role in supervising and directing the consolidation and financial closure procedures for the group. This involves tasks such as creating and evaluating crucial consolidation reconciliations. An ideal candidate should possess prior expertise in cross-cultural management and handling diverse jurisdictions/time zones. The successful candidate should also bring experience in financial control, auditing, financial advisory, or managerial accounting. A strong grasp of IFRS and financial/disclosed controls framework is essential, along with a robust foundation in technical accounting, complemented by analytical abilities and a keen business insight. Previous experience in a listed environment is desirable, preferably fintech, banking and/or payment industry.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and managing the consolidation and group financial close process, including preparing and reviewing key consolidation reconciliations.
- Preparing and reviewing the monthly management reporting package.
- Preparing and reviewing the quarterly external reporting package, assisting with external announcements, and meeting regulatory requirements for annual/interim reports.
- Preparing and reviewing the annual external reporting package.
- Project managing and reviewing the Annual Report, including the financial sections.
- Ensuring timely filing of financial information required by regulators, including preparing a roadmap of listing reporting requirements for IPO preparations.
- Managing and overseeing the training and development of accounting staff across the group in respect of accounting and reporting-related developments.
- Preparing Board material related to the financial reporting area as needed.
- Assisting with planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, including the consolidated Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Owning intra-month Sales and Expense Reporting.
- Owning Group Cost Accounting and Reporting.
- Collaborating with Treasury, Shared Services, Legal Entity Owners, and Finance Technology teams to drive process improvements for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes through automation and control
- Hiring, training, and supervising employees.
- Planning, assigning, and directing work.
- Assessing performance of employees.
- Ensuring the development, implementation, and maintenance of an effective control environment.
- Providing support for corporate development activities, including mergers and acquisitions.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics or another related field.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA, CPA) with experience, preferably from a Top-Tier Audit & Accounting Firm.
- Previous experience in a listed environment is desirable, preferably fintech, banking and/or payment industry.
- Experience managing across different cultures and multiple jurisdictions/time zones.
- Experience in financial controlling, financial audit, financial advisory, or management accounting, with a good knowledge of IFRS and financial and disclosure controls framework.
- Strong technical accounting background with analytical skills and excellent commercial acumen.
