Interpreters (Sessional)

The University of Nicosia (UNIC) espouses the holistic concept of One Health, which emphasizes the relationship between the health of humans and animals within a healthy, sustainable environment. UNIC Health is dedicated to support the development of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Nicosia.

We are now seeking well-qualified and motivated professionals to support our team for the sessional post of Interpreter in Nicosia.

The successful candidates will provide their services on an ad-hoc basis and will act as an Interpreter to groups of Medical students. Throughout their Medical training, our students have clinical placements at public and private hospitals/ clinics. For these placements, we use interpreters to assist our students to communicate with the patients.

Responsibilities:

• Assist students with taking patient histories.
• Interpret for non-English speaking patients.
• Complete daily logbook
• Proficient understanding of cultural sensitivity, and ability to collaborate with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
• Honour ethical codes to ensure sensitive and confidential information remains secure and protected

Requirements:

• An undergraduate degree
• Fluent in both Greek and English
• Availability to work from Monday to Friday from 08:30-13:30

Remuneration: Fixed rate per hour

The ideal candidate should be eligible to work in the European Union/ European Economic Area.
