PASCAL Private Primary School Lemesos is actively seeking a Primary Class Teacher to join our dynamic team!

Key Responsibilities:

• Creates a lively, communicative atmosphere in class which is conducive to teaching and learning.
• Encourages diligence, organisation, responsibility, self-reliance, co-operation, teamwork, honesty, understanding and tolerance in pupils.
• Plans, delivers and evaluates lessons, maintaining up-to-date records.
• Teaches all areas of the primary curriculum.
• Takes responsibility for the progress of a class of primary age pupils.
• Organizes the classroom and learning resources to create a positive learning environment.
• Monitors the attendance of pupils during lessons and ensures that they are working, to the best of their ability, classwork, homework and coursework, and that it is up-to-date and marked.
• Reviews pupil progress.
• Monitors compliance with School rules and dress code regulations.
• Maintains and improves personal standards of teaching, sharing of ideas with other staff, and remains abreast of developments in their own subject and education generally.
• Compiles, supervises, and marks tests as appropriate.
• Attends assemblies, meetings, Parent/Teacher Evenings, presentations and events, including school events in the evenings or Saturdays, as required.
• Completes reports as required.
• Covers for absent colleagues when necessary.
• Avoids doing or saying anything that is detrimental to the reputation of the School or its staff.
• Develops and fosters the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of children, according to age, ability and aptitude.
• Assesses and records progress and prepares pupils for progress tests.
• Provides feedback to parents on pupils’ progress at parents’ evenings and meetings.
• Coordinates activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum and supports colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area.
• Works with others to plan and co-ordinate work.
• Stays up-to-date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum.
• Liaises with colleagues and works flexibly.
• Conducts break duties, lunch duties and/or any other assigned duty.
• Supervises and guides pupils during Homework Supervision time.
• Delivers extracurricular activities as required.
• Undertakes other tasks and duties as requested by the Head Teacher.
  

Requirements:

• A first degree in Primary Education.
• Proficient level of English language.
• A clear philosophy on student achievement.
• An ability to challenge all students to achieve excellent progress, appropriate to their needs.
• An ability to contribute meaningfully to the pastoral welfare of students in their care.
• An up-to-date knowledge of current educational developments.
