The Role:
As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will be working with the Cyber Security Team, reporting to the Chief Security Officer. You will be responsible for securing ICT infrastructure, user devices, networks, and cloud resources, providing a secure operating environment for the business, all employees, and the services we deliver to our customers. Each day you will contribute to securing the organisation by investigating security events, alerts, and incidents that will require your best analytical skills to remediate using best-in-class security tools.
Our team of Cyber Security professionals all contribute to the process of continual improvement of our technology and cyber security capability. You will also be required to support to the IT Service Management team, allowing them to meet their objectives regarding service level performance and the delivery of project objectives.
You will gain invaluable experience working with EU and globally recognised security standards and frameworks, such as PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, Swift CSCF, and PSD2. You will be encouraged to develop a range of cyber security skills to broaden your experience and become a well-rounded cyber security professional and working towards obtaining industry recognised security certifications that support your career.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Proactively monitor users and office networks to detect and respond to security incidents or investigate suspicious activity.
- Correlate data from multiple sources to build dashboards, alerts and reports.
- Develop cyber security incident response playbooks for emerging threats, and continuously improve existing playbooks.
- Maintaining the Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance alerts, configuration, and reporting. For example, threat management and investigations, Exchange (spam/phishing), DLP and information governance, etc.
- Monitoring the SIEM and other security tools for a deep analysis of security events to understand context and actual risk to the business for determining an appropriate response.
- Responsible for managing user access to corporate information management systems.
- Manage endpoint security and configuration for Windows, macOS and Linux assets.
- Conducting vulnerability assessments to determine risk-based remediation, which can include patching of applications, ICT systems and user device upgrades.
- Contribute to the improvement of the technical/operational processes and documentation to support business procedures and the internal knowledgebase.
- Identifying risks in our people, process, and technology, and assisting with remediation, where necessary.
- Build your industry and business-specific knowledge to understand commonly used tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Meet support SLAs and suggest improvements where identified.
Skills and Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Understanding of security and network technologies.
- Awareness and understanding of global cyber security activity, news and trends.
- Knowledge of security principles, best practice and standards is preferred.
- Occasionally work outside of normal business hours to respond and remediate security and operational incidents or provide system maintenance and upgrades.
- Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure) will be considered as an advantage.
- Willingness to continually learn.
- Aptitude to work in a fast-paced environment.
