Legal Counsel – Employment

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and handle high-level agreements and contracts, including but not limited to commercial, corporate, employment, intellectual property, distribution, and marketing
  • Liaise with the Chief Legal Officer and legal team in reviewing and creating important legal documents.
  • Liaise with the Chief Legal Officer and legal team in drafting new contracts or agreements for the Company.
  • Support the HR team with various employment law matters.
  • Handling applications for and assisting employees in obtaining permits.
  • Liaise with the migration office and other officials in connection with relocation and permits of employees.
  • Support the legal team on various transactions such as acquisitions, partnerships, and collaborations.
  • Support the legal team on any other matters arising to ensure the smooth operation of the business.
  • Reviewing, managing and processing documentation and handling internal and external due diligence requirements.
  • Support in the general internal corporate and compliance needs of the Company.
  • Creating and administering compliance policies, documents and guidelines.
  • Assisting on specific projects as may be required on an ongoing basis.

Requirements:

  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Experience in corporate, commercial and employment legal matters.
  • A current licence to practice in one or more jurisdictions (UK or Cyprus is preferred).
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ practice experience at a well-regarded law firm, or in-house experience.
  • A team player with the ability to proactively identify problems, drive projects, make complex cost/benefit assessments, and identify pragmatic/creative legal and business solutions.
  • Willingness to learn and take responsibility on tasks.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively and to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • A quick and flexible learner, intellectually curious, open-minded, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity and risk, and excited by dynamic change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly learn the confidence of your colleagues and effectively communicate with people at all levels of the organization.
  • High standards, impeccable integrity and ethics, unquestionable good judgment, well-honed analytical skills, superior oral and written communications skills.
  • Experience in different jurisdictions will be considered an advantage.
