CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an International service provider to the Oil & Gas industry, we are seeking to recruit a Part-Time Payroll Officer to join their team based in Nicosia on a Part-Time basis. This role will require the successful applicant to maintain payroll records, provide exceptional customer service to employees with payroll-related inquiries, as well as invoicing paid hours to international clients. Our client is seeking applicants with previous experience in a relevant Payroll, Accounting and/or Bookkeeping role, who possess excellent numerical and data entry skills, with a keen eye for detail. This role requires the successful applicant to work for approximately 20 hour per week, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00. With offices in Nicosia, our client is able to offer the potential for Hybrid and/or Remote working conditions for the right candidate.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collect and compile employee time and attendance data.
  • Calculate and process employee wages, salaries, overtime, bonuses, and deductions accurately and in compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
  • Review and verify payroll data for accuracy before final processing.
  • Ensure employee changes (new hires, terminations, promotions) are accurately reflected in the payroll system.
  • Maintain complete and accurate payroll records for each employee.
  • Update and maintain employee payroll data, tax information, and other relevant records.
  • Prepare and distribute pay stubs, direct deposit confirmations, and other payroll-related documents to employees.
  • Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and ensure compliance with tax laws and reporting requirements.
  • Process and file payroll-related taxes, such as income tax withholding, Social Security, and Medicare.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports to management and other departments as needed.
  • Prepare periodic reports for financial analysis, budgeting, and auditing purposes.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, deductions, and benefits.
  • Assist employees in resolving payroll discrepancies or issues.
  • Utilize payroll software or systems to input, process, and manage payroll data.
  • Collaborate with IT or external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to the payroll system.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent numerical and data entry skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to address payroll-related inquiries effectively.
  • Knowledge of Codeworks PayrollPlus is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
