Position:Compliance Specialist, Client Acceptance | Central Risk Department

The Central Risk Department of Deloitte Middle East & Cyprus is seeking to recruit a Compliance Specialist, at the level of Senior to Assistant Manager, based in our Nicosia office.

The Team

The Central Risk Department is handling matters pertaining to Compliance; Regulatory; Anti-Money Laundering (AML); Ethics; Anti-Corruption; Independence and Risk Management for the entire Deloitte Middle East & Cyprus region. This is a unique opportunity to engage in cross-border collaboration with Deloitte professionals across the Deloitte network, broadening your knowledge and building your competencies and skills.

The Compliance Specialist Role

The successful candidate’s key responsibilities include, among others:

  • Follow established KYC/AML processes for new and existing clients in line with relevant Deloitte Global and local policies, undertake due diligence and raise any concerns to the quality risk representative/management.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills and consistently communicate with teams regarding compliance-related tasks.
  • Engage with key stakeholders of the firm, e.g., Engagement teams and other Deloitte offices to build solid relationships, improve processes, share knowledge, and develop a compliance culture.
  • Provide guidance and support to client onboarding team on day-to-day activities and ensure that cases are completed in a timely manner.
  • Develop and manage strong working relationships across business lines and supporting functions.
  • Monitor weekly reports and interact/help client onboarding team members to achieve KPIs.
  • Guide new joiners of the team. Set up regular meetings and communication with the team and contribute to training and development of the team.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities assigned by the line manager or department head.
  • Help create and foster a respectful and inclusive team environment.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree from a reputable University in Business Administration or related fields.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the same industry.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels across the firm.
  • The ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
  • Resilience and an ability to work accurately under pressure and to deadlines.
  • A constructive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to exercise sound professional judgement.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to finishing tasks to the highest standards.
