The Nines, a new five-star hotel, will very soon open its doors at the vibrant and cosmopolitan Ayia Napa. With the casual luxury approach, we aim to offer all our guests an exceptional and memorable experience in a relaxed but indulgent atmosphere.

We are currently looking to recruit an Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical background) who will be reporting to the Operations Director. More specifically, the Engineer will assist in ensuring the effective preventive and corrective maintenance of all systems, facilities and equipment within the vicinity of the hotel in order all guests to enjoy an exceptional and uninterrupted experience.

Main responsibilities:

• Ensure that all systems and equipment are operating on an efficient and cost-effective manner and proactively maintained in line with the suppliers’ manuals, relevant SOPs, guidelines and relevant legislations.

• Ensure that facilities are well maintained as per the industry high standards.

• Plan and ensure the implementation of the preventive maintenance, according to the relevant maintenance master plan.

• Conduct daily/weekly audits and checks to ensure high quality maintenance activities and repairs as per the industry’s high standards.

• Ensure that all existing and potential hazards are identified and measures are taken on regular intervals.

• Work closely with the Finance department to ensure sufficient supply of spare parts and maintain a proper stock

• Work closely with the Front Office and Housekeeping departments to ensure that all guests will have an exceptional guest experience.

• Assist in the development of the departmental budgets and ensure that the systems and equipment operate within the approved budgets.

• Assist in the development of the departmental policies and procedures

• Monitor the energy consumption and make recommendations to decrease the consumption levels when applicable.

• Monitor the water and air quality to ensure that are in line with the hotel’s standards and legal requirements.

• Manage waste and suggest initiatives to minimize further the levels of waste.

The ideal professional shall have the following qualifications, experiences, and skills:

• University degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)

• 1-2 years of previous working experience in similar position in any industry

• Knowledge on automations/IT background will be considered an advantage

• ETEK membership will be considered an advantage

• Very good knowledge of Greek & English languages

• Computer Literate

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Proactive approach mindset

• Problem-solving and analytical capabilities

• Guest-oriented mindset

• Pleasant and integer personality

• Flexibility and adaptability
