CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an international, leading provider of storage solutions to the energy sector, we are seeking to recruit a Rotating Equipment Maintenance Engineer to join their growing team based in Larnaca. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will maintain and oversee the ongoing maintenance of the rotating equipment. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Electrical Engineering or another related field, who possess at least 3 years proven of experience in Oil Storage or a Heavy Industrial Sector, and hold the Electrical Engineer Competence Certificate Class B or higher. Atex Competence Certificate, and knowledge of medium Voltage Installations, pump types, selection, maintenance, and repair, in NFPA 20, in EN 10204 and in ISO 9906 will be considered an advantage. The position includes an on-call pattern, for which there is an allowance. 

 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible to organize, execute and supervise maintenance and inspections works and the workload of the inhouse electricians for all rotating equipment.
  • Responsible to organize, execute and supervise maintenance and inspections works of external contractors for all rotating equipment.
  • Responsible to complete all maintenance and inspections works based on the weekly plan and annual plan, submitted by Maintenance Planning to the Engineer.
  • Raise material requisitions in a timely fashion as per the relevant procedures.
  • Discuss pending tasks with Maintenance Planning and assist in the criticality assessment of each task. 
  • Provide technical support for the repair and overhaul of rotating equipment during dismantling, diagnosing, assembling, testing and issue related technical reports.
  • Prepare and/or review applicable work permits, work order documents, method statements, check lists, risk assessments and all other required documentation needed to complete the required tasks in a safe manner and with high quality end results.
  • Monitor the work execution and participate in and give directions for complex installation, repairs and maintenance of the rotating equipment/ systems.
  • Participates in the improvement of work instructions (Wis), check lists (CHs) and procedures (PRs) submitted in QoL.
  • Reports and discusses accidents, incidents, pollution or emission occurrences and near misses with the Technical Manager.
  • Carries out other similar or related duties as assigned, such as, ensuring the observance of safety and fire regulations, good housekeeping, and that material is salvaged and reconditioned wherever possible and proposing improvements.
  • Attends HSE and toolbox meetings and submit his/her input.
  • Create scopes of work for the rotating equipment maintenance activities.
  • Review bid proposals for accuracy and scope of work alignment and make award recommendations.
  • Develop small projects objectives that has been assigned, by reviewing proposals and by discussing with management.
  • Control project schedule and cost by approving expenditures.
  • Submit annual evaluation report of vendors and contractors to the Technical Manager.
  • As applicable, monitor vendors and contractors work quality and mitigate poor performance issues.
  • Make recommendations for onboarding new vendors.
  • Provide input for upcoming preventative and/ or corrective maintenance to be inserted into the budget process.
  • Help to analyse root cause of chronic maintenance issues at a Terminal level and make recommendations to budget for CAPEX improvements or major expense projects.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Electrical Engineering degree.
  • 3 years+ experience in Oil Storage or a Heavy Industrial Sector.
  • Electrical Engineer Competence Certificate Class B or higher.
  • Scientific Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK).
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Understanding Company Operations, Planning for Business and Understanding Differences.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and adaptability.
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking.
  • Drive for results.

Considered an Advantage:
