The Cyprus Institute (CyI) is a European non-profit Science and Technology oriented Educational and Research Institution based in Cyprus and led by an acclaimed Board of Trustees. The research agenda of the CyI is pursued at its five Research Centres: The Computation-based Science and Technology Research Centre (CaSToRC), the Science and Technology in Archaeology and Culture Research Centre (STARC), the Energy Environment Water Research Centre (EEWRC), the Climate and Atmosphere Research Centre (CARE-C), and the Science and Technology Driven Policy and Innovation Research Centre (STeDI-RC). Considerable cross-centre interaction is a characteristic of the Institute’s culture.

The Cyprus Institute invites applications for a highly motivated graduate to join the Institute as a 3D Architectural Modeler for Interactive Visualisation in the STARC under the HRDA scheme (Σχέδιο Στελέχωσης Επιχειρήσεων με Αποφοίτους Τριτοβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης).

The successful candidate should have very good experience with 3D modelling tools, preferably with 3DS MAX, Blender or Maya, and texturing tools like Substance and Photoshop. Skills like photography, interactive application design, Unity, C# and freehand sketching will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities/activities to be involved in:

1. To contribute to 3D modelling, documentation, data processing, texturing and 3D model preparation for interactive visualisation.
2. To contribute to the requirements of the interactive application of an important monument of the Rep. of Cyprus.
3. To contribute to the requirements of the content creation for a public exhibition about the history of Cyprus.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and Design, Computer Graphics or Visualisation related degree
2. Contributions to 3D modelling /portfolio of projects
3. Younger than 30 years of age, due to the HRDA scheme requirements
4. Less than 8months post-degree Experience (HRDA scheme requirements)
5. Knowledge of 3d modelling software tools like 3ds max, Blender, etc.
6. Imaging skills for texturing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in using Autodesk 3ds max
