CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a globally recognised provider of tailor-made Residence & Citizenship Planning services, we are seeking to recruit a Junior Compliance Officer to join their growing team based in Limassol. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, the successful applicant will primarily be responsible for applying the relevant internal due diligence processes to establish and continually monitor business relationships, utilizing both in-house systems and external resources for detecting money laundering, bribery, and other business risks. An academic background relating to Law, Business, Finance or similar is desirable, and any knowledge of compliance principles and regulations will be considered a significant advantage, although previous experience is not essential, and full training will be provided. You will need to be fluent in English, both verbal and written, and knowledge of Greek will be considered an advantage. Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Apply the relevant internal due diligence processes to establish and continually monitor business relationships, utilizing both in-house systems and external resources for detecting money laundering, bribery, and other business risks.
  • Communicate due diligence results to senior management, providing well-reasoned recommendations for business relationship decisions.
  • Collaborate with staff, across entities and departments, to gather necessary information for due diligence.
  • Document and process Internal Suspicious Activity Reports, forwarding them to the General Counsel and Group Head of Compliance.
  • Maintain essential registers and provide regular reports to the board, senior management, and General Counsel and Group Head of Compliance to keep them informed about compliance efforts.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date compliance-related data in the Customer Relationship Management System.
  • Escalate significant compliance concerns or contentious matters to the General Counsel and Group Head of Compliance.
  • Participate in internal and external audit reviews where required.
  • Address compliance issues, respond to inquiries related to compliance and audits, and promote a robust compliance culture.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field will be considered an advantage.
  • Proficiency in compliance principles and regulations will be considered a significant advantage.
  • Applicants without previous experience are also encouraged to apply, as full training will be provided.  
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Full English business proficiency is required, and Greek business proficiency is considered an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
