CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a rapidly expanding and highly innovative Law Firm, we are seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing team in Limassol. The successful applicant will be responsible for monitoring bookkeeping, managing bank accounts, preparing financial statements, handling invoices and collections, and generating internal reports, including the calculation and preparation of VAT submissions. You will ideally be educated to degree level in Accounting or Finance or LCCI Higher and you will need to possess approximately 2+ years of previous experience in a relevant accounting role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek & English are crucial for this position.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monitoring of all bookkeeping and recording transaction in the various accounting systems and registration of income and expenses.
- Opening and Management of Bank Accounts.
- Preparation, management and presentation of monthly, quarterly and annual profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Reconciliation of its bank accounts on a weekly basis.
- Drafting, issue and preparation, check and approval of invoices, accounting statements and tracking of collection progress.
- Preparation and review of internal reports at regular intervals (as requested by the firm’s management).
- Communication, cooperation and coordination with the firm’s suppliers.
- Communication with clients for the purpose of settlement outstanding payments.
- Processing of the firm’s accounts payable and management of all correspondence and inquiries from suppliers.
- Supervision of invoice processing, purchase orders, expense reports, credit memos and payment transactions.
- Management of all income/revenue and taxes and preparation of income tax returns declarations, V.A.T. declarations, social insurance and other declarations in accordance with the applicable legislative and regulatory framework. TAXISNET service (preparation and submission of VIES, V.A.T.)
- Liaising with external auditors at a regular basis, for the purpose of organizing and updating the financial records of the firm as well as the financial records of third companies.
- Processing of the firm’s payroll as well as processing of the payroll of third companies using specialized software.
- Attendance of informative seminars for training purposes.
Key Skills/Experience:
- University degree or diploma or other recognized title in Accounting or Finance or LCCI Higher.
- Previous experience of at least 2+ years in a similar position will be considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of the QUICKBOOK system software environment will be considered as a significant additional qualification.
- Character Integrity, Professionalism, Conscientiousness, Responsibility, Initiative, and Reliability.
- Knowledge of the applicable Tax, Social Insurance and other relevant legislation shall be considered as a vital, additional qualification.
- Computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent knowledge of English and Greek, both verbal and written.
- Ambitious, fast learner, with good organizational skills.
