CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a European Investment Firm with significant investments in the Technology sector, we are seeking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for all things related to corporate accounting, including managing financial records, budgeting, and forecasting. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other closely related fields, and holders of or those working towards any professional accounting qualification are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess approximately 2+ years of relevant experience, ideally gained working in either Audit and/or Financial Accounting, and hold profound knowledge of IFRS. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Reconciliation of cash transactions of companies under supervision.
• Maintenance of accounting records of companies under direct supervision, aligning those with external service providers.
• Preparation of various financial reports upon request.
• Support of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
• Support year-end audit processes in collaboration with the team, clients, administrators, and auditors.
• Participation in budgeting process.
• Establishment of additional internal controls for companies under direct supervision.
• Continuous improvement and automation of accounting and treasury processes in the company.
• Assessment of current processes in order to permanently improve the status quo when useful.
• Oversee the processing of invoices controlling, payments execution, and reconciliation.

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another closely related field.
• Holders of, or those working towards any professional accounting qualification are encouraged to apply
• At least 2-3 years of relevant experience (Audit, Corporate/Financial, Group Accounting experience is desirable).
• Profound knowledge of IFRS (with German GAAP knowledge as an additional advantage).
• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Basic understanding of ERP systems.
• Basic understanding of tax laws and regulations in EU.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well with wider internal & external stakeholders.
• Excellent command of English, both verbal and written.
• Any knowledge of German will be considered a plus.
