Library Officer

The University of Nicosia (UNIC)is a leading research university ranked in the Top 501-600 in the 2024 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

UNIC Health, supporting the strategic growth of its Medical and Veterinary Schools, seeks a full-time Library Officer based in Nicosia to join its Library Team.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide library services and support to students on and off campus
• Provide technical support for off-campus access to library resources
• Provide training to students, staff and student assistants, under the direction of the Library Coordinator
• Maintain and update the library system database, producing reports as required
• Create and update material for e-resources
• Participate in orientation sessions and other library events as needed

Requirements:

• Proven work experience in a customer-facing administrative position
• Bachelor’s Degree – Postgraduate studies will be an advantage
• Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written
• Excellent use of Microsoft Office. Experience with platforms such as Moodle and Lib Guides will be an advantage
• Ability to apply/use search techniques using both library and free on the web resources
• Strong organizational skills with a problem-solving attitude
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a diverse team of professionals

The ideal candidate should be eligible to work in the European Union/ European Economic Area.
