Position Summary

The Human Resources Regional Director is responsible for overseeing and managing HR operations and initiatives across multiple locations within the assigned region. This role includes developing and implementing HR strategies that align with both regional and organizational objectives, ensuring the consistent application of HR policies, and fostering a culture of excellence and engagement.

The role also involves providing specialist consultation to the company’s management and executive team on strategic staffing plans, training initiatives, development programs, and remuneration strategies. Key areas of responsibility include total rewards, talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, training and development, employee relations, employee benefits, employee engagement, and employer branding.

As a strategic partner to regional leadership and an advocate for employees, the HR Regional Director drives talent acquisition, development, and retention, creating and executing a vision for a people strategy that delivers a competitive advantage for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement regional HR strategies aligned with corporate goals and regional business needs.

  • Serve as a key advisor to regional leadership, providing insights and solutions for workforce planning, organizational structure, and HR compliance.

  • Act as a liaison between regional offices and corporate HR to ensure consistency and alignment of policies and practices.

  • Oversee recruitment and staffing processes to ensure the region attracts and retains top talent.

  • Lead employee engagement initiatives to promote morale, retention, and productivity.

  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.

  • Oversee performance management processes, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and regional goals.

  • Provide training and coaching to managers on effective performance feedback and goal-setting practices.

  • Ensure compliance with regional employment laws, regulations, and organizational policies.

  • Maintain and update HR documentation, including handbooks and procedural guides, to reflect regional requirements.

  • Manage HR operations within the region, including reporting, payroll, and HRIS maintenance.

  • Utilize data and analytics to monitor HR metrics and inform decision-making.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on regional HR performance and initiatives to senior leadership.

  • Develops human resources operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements.

  • Develops and implements departmental budget.

  • Lead and mentor regional HR teams, fostering professional development and ensuring high performance.

  • Collaborate with corporate HR and regional leadership to align initiatives and share best practices.

  • Act as a change agent to support organizational growth and transformation within the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • A Master’s degree on Human Resources or qualified certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, CIPD, or equivalent) is highly preferred.

  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial / leadership role

  • Regional or multi-location leadership role will consider as an advantage.

  • Proficiency in English Language.

  • Thorough knowledge of Cyprus Labour Law.

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
