POSITION SUMMARY:

The Supervisor, Housekeeping is responsible for the supervision for the cleaning of guest rooms, guest floor corridors, heart of house areas and other service areas in accordance with established company’s standards and checklists.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures all allocated daily tasks are completed in accordance with established SOPs, guidelines and checklists
  • Monitors and maintains the cleanliness of the rooms according to the company’s standards
  • Assists in the supervision of the other sections of the department as required
  • Assists in the management, coaching and development of Room Attendants to ensure competence, performance and succession objectives are met. This includes conducting performance reviews and counselling on all team members in accordance with Performance Management System of the City of Dream Mediterranean
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the heart of house areas ensuring they are clean and free of risks including using appropriate cautionary signage to alert guests and fellow team members of potential risks as required
  • Undertakes cleaning duties when required
  • Communicates with fellow team members and departments to proactively service guests and ensures the standards are maintained as well as guest requirements are satisfied
  • Monitors the Turndown process and ensures all procedures are followed in accordance with established practices
  • Liaises with other departments to ensure timely and effective service is provided
  • Assists to ensure the punctuality and appearance of all Housekeeping employees, making sure that they wear the correct uniform and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, according to the hotel and department’s grooming standards
  • Monitors operating supplies and strives to reduce costs while promoting awareness to the department
  • Participates actively in Health & Safety activities to ensure that workplace hazards are minimized, and the health and safety of all employees is valued
  • Ensures work area is always clean and neat including the proper maintenance of all equipment needed to perform daily tasks
  • Maintains the highest standard of professionalism, ethics, and attitude toward guests and colleagues
  • Performs any other duties as may be assigned by leadership
  • Reports accidents, injuries, unsafe work environment and/or security issues to leadership/ managers

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years at a Housekeeping supervisory role in a Five-star Hotel

Education

  • High school diploma

Skills / Competencies

  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Computer literate with PMS, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, leadership and coaching skills
