CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an expanding provider of Financial Technology solutions and services to the iGaming & Online Casino industries, we are seeking to recruit a Head of Risk & Fraud to join their growing team based in Limassol. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to identify, mitigate, and prevent risks and fraudulent activities within the casino operation. This position plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of the gaming environment and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or another relevant field, who possess approximately 5+ years of proven experience in a senior risk management or fraud prevention role within the casino or gaming industry. In-depth knowledge of casino operations, gaming regulations, and compliance requirements is essential. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Evaluate and assess potential risks associated with casino operations, including financial, operational, and compliance risks.
  • Develop risk management strategies and policies to minimize exposure and ensure the safety of assets and funds.
  • Implement fraud detection and prevention systems and processes to safeguard against fraudulent activities, including but not limited to cheating, money laundering, and card counting.
  • Conduct investigations into suspected fraudulent activities and take appropriate actions, such as reporting to regulatory authorities or law enforcement.
  • Stay current with local, state, and federal gaming regulations and ensure the casino's operations comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies and maintain a strong working relationship to address compliance matters.
  • Build and manage a team of risk and fraud prevention professionals.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff members to enhance their understanding of risk management and fraud prevention principles.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to monitor and detect unusual or suspicious patterns of activity.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and regulatory authorities on risk and fraud-related matters.
  • Collaborate with the casino's security and surveillance teams to ensure the safety and security of the gaming floor and assets.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Finance Law or similar is desirable.
  • Approximately 5+ years of proven experience in a senior risk management or fraud prevention role within the casino or gaming industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of casino operations, gaming regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with modern risk management and fraud prevention software and technologies.
