Laboratory Assistant

Our client, an established laboratory, is currently seeking for a professional individual for the role of Laboratory Assistant to join their team in Nicosia.

Position’s Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory tests including pre- and post-analytic phases (hematological, chemical, PCR, etc.)
• Prepare samples/specimens
• Collect, label, and prepare samples for hematological and chemical tests
• Produce accurate and reliable data and interpret results
• Follow methodologies in carrying routine tasks
• Prepare reagents, manage inventory, and assist senior staff as needed
• Record test results in the lab information system and maintain accurate documentation.
• Adhere to correct procedures, policies and health/safety guidelines
• Keep abreast of all industry developments and best practices
• Document all activities, record results and insert/retrieve data
• Participate in quality control procedures and report anomalies
• Maintain work area and equipment. Assist in cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of lab equipment
• Provide administrative assistance

Position’s Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical or any other related field
• At least 2 years of related experience
• Familiarity with automated laboratory equipment
• Computer literacy and experience with Laboratory Information Systems
• Accuracy and close attention to detail
• Strong analytical judgement
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.

Working hours: Monday to Friday 7:30-14:30 (3 times a week) & 12:00-19:00 (twice a week) & Saturday 7:30-14:30
