What Does the AI and Data Lab at Grant Thornton Offer?
Our AI and Data Lab sits within Advisory, helping organisations unlock value from data, drive automation, and implement AI-driven solutions. We work with companies across various industries, including finance, retail, logistics and professional services.
Our services include but are not limited to:
- AI and Machine Learning Solutions: Developing and applying AI models to improve processes and decision-making.
- Data analytics and Visualisation: Transforming raw data into insights that drive business decisions using tools like Power BI, Python and SQL.
- Automation & Workflow optimisation: Designing and implementing AI-driven automation solutions to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and improve efficiency using Python and other automation tools.
- AI for Business Strategy – Supporting companies in integrating AI into their operations for competitive advantage.
- Training & Upskilling: Helping organisations adopt AI and data-driven decision-making through tailored training sessions.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes for Success
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Technical & Data Skills: Basic understanding of programming languages (i.e. Python, R), SQL, Power BI, or other data tools (prior experience is a plus, but not required).
- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to connect technology with business challenges.
- Adaptability & Initiative: A proactive approach to learning and exploring new AI/data solutions.
- Collaboration & Communication: Ability to explain ideas clearly and work effectively in a team.
- Eagerness to Grow: A keen interest in expanding knowledge and applying AI and data concepts in business context.
