Laboratory Technician

The University of Nicosia (UNIC) is a leading research university ranked in the Top 501-600 in the 2024 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

UNIC Health, supporting the strategic growth of its Medical and Veterinary Schools, seeks a full-time Laboratory Technician based in Nicosia to join its Laboratory Team.

Main Responsibilities:

• Prepare clinical skills teaching sessions for all programmes offered by UNIC Health.
• Maintain a clean, organized clinical skills lab and storeroom, ensuring proper care of equipment and manikins, managing inventories and maintaining service logs.
• Assist during practical sessions across biochemistry, biology, chemistry, histology, microbiology, physics, and physiology, offering support to both students and staff.
• Provide guidance and support to medical students during their Self-Directed Learning (SDL) clinical skills practice hours.
• Assist in the setup and smooth execution of (OSCE) assessments.
• Assist with receiving new equipment and consumables, ensuring the lab remains fully stocked and operational.
• Adhere to all University of Nicosia laboratory policies, with a strong emphasis on Health & Safety regulations.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate science degree (minimum). Postgraduate studies will be an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong proficiency in both written and spoken English.
• Team player and attention to detail when independently preparing clinical skills sessions.
• Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Professional demeanor in interactions with students and staff at all levels of the organization.

The ideal candidate should be eligible to work in the European Union / European Economic Area.
