The Cyprus Institute invites applications for a highly qualified and motivated professional to join the Institute’s Graduate School on a full-time basis or part-time basis for its premises at Athalassas Campus.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of The Cyprus Institute’s Vocational Education and Training Centre (CyI VET centre), managed by the CyI Graduate School. This position involves providing comprehensive support to training participants and trainers, facilitating the organization and delivery of training programs, promoting the training programs and ensuring smooth communication with various stakeholders. This role will directly contribute to the success and growth of the CyI VET Centre, helping to establish it as a leading provider of vocational education and training in the region. The role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for education and workforce development to be part of a new and impactful initiative at The Cyprus Institute.
The Education and Training Assistant will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the VET centre of the CyI Graduate School. This position requires a highly organized and proactive individual who can provide administrative, logistical, and communication support to ensure the smooth execution of all activities.
Position Specific Responsibilities/activities:
- Designs and updates promotional materials for various media platforms (websites, social media etc.)
- Contributes to the development and implements a promotion strategy to attract training participants and increase the CyI VET center’s visibility
- Establishes and maintains communication with stakeholders, including industry partners, public and private organizations, potential trainees and trainers to promote training programs
- Handles financials including payments, subsidies, budget tracking
- Coordinates logistics, including scheduling of trainings, allocation of facilities, managing room bookings and the general day-to-day operations of the training programs
- Serves as the primary point of contact for training programs, providing information and support to training participants, trainers, and external partners
- Ensures regulatory compliance of training programs and administrative processes
- Prepares reports on training program performance, participant feedback and other key metrics
- Communicates with HRDA regarding programs, subsidies and compliance requirements and other related matters
- Be updated on trends and developments in professional training to enhance the training offerings and align with market demands
Position Specific Required Qualifications:
- Competence in using design tools for the creation of promotional material
- Experience in coordinating events and training activities
- Familiarity with the principles of vocational /adult/lifelong education
Position Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an education-related field, particularly Adult and Continuing Education, Lifelong Learning, Vocational Education will be considered an advantage.
- Previous experience in administrative support, particularly in an educational or vocational training setting is desirable.
- Certification as a Vocational Trainer – Level 5 CyQF/EQF by the Human Development Authority of Cyprus will be considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with database management systems

Duration of appointment:
The initial period of the appointment will be for a duration of 12 months with the possibility of renewal, depending on performance and availability of funds.
Remuneration details:
Salary Band: CYI1(1-16)]
Position’s Starting Salary: CYI1.1 - €20153.38
