CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established International Group of Companies with diverse business interests and investments, we are seeking to recruit a Data Engineer to join their growing team based in the heart of Nicosia. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, databases, and ETL workflows to support business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision-making. Our client is seeking applicants who possess approximately 3+ years of experience in data engineering, database management, or ETL development, with strong proficiency in Python for data processing and automation. You will also need to be a confident user of SQL, and possess hands-on experience working with the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) for web-based data applications. A highly attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience.

 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to collect, process, and store structured and unstructured data.
• Develop ETL processes for transforming and integrating data from multiple sources.
• Optimize SQL queries and database performance for high-volume datasets.
• Work with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) to build scalable data solutions.
• Implement data quality checks and ensure the reliability of datasets used for reporting and analytics.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to ensure seamless data integration.
• Develop and maintain APIs for data access and processing (RESTful, GraphQL).
• Build web applications using the LAMP stack for data visualization and reporting.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, database management, or ETL development.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
• Experience with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server) and database optimization.
• Knowledge of big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
• Experience with cloud-based data services (AWS Glue, Google Cloud Dataflow, Azure Data Factory).
• Hands-on experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (Apache Airflow, Prefect, Dagster).
• Proficiency with the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) for web-based data applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile development environment.
