Chief Financial Officer
Our client, one of the biggest retail companies with a vast network of stores, wishes to employ a professional for the position of CFO.

Objective
Leading a team of more than 30 people and reporting directly to the General Manager the CFO will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, optimizing profitability, and ensuring robust financial controls. This role involves managing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance while supporting strategic decision-making for the retail business.

Position’s Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
• Develop, monitor, and execute financial strategies to support business objectives.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to assess business performance.
• Analyze financial statements, key performance indicators (KPIs), and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Provide financial insights to senior management for data-driven decision-making.
Accounting & Compliance
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with local regulations and international financial standards (IFRS/GAAP).
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies to maintain compliance.
• Ensure VAT, corporate tax, and other financial obligations are met on time.
Cost Control & Profitability
• Optimize cost structures, pricing strategies, and profitability
• Monitor operational costs, inventory management, and supply chain efficiency.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management
• Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity to support business operations.
• Oversee relationships with banks, financial institutions, and funding partners.
• Ensure effective working capital management, including accounts payable and receivable.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
• Implement and maintain strong financial controls to mitigate risks.
• Identify potential financial risks and develop risk management strategies.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and best practices.

Position’s Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or any other related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
• Professional Accounting certification (ACA, ACCA, CPA)
• Experience in a similar position with at least 10 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in retail, FMCG, or e-commerce industries is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment.
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
