Job Summary: (Remote/Hybrid)

As an Instructional Designer, you will play a crucial role in the creation and development of our maritime eLearning courses. You will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand complex maritime content and transform it into visually appealing and engaging storyboards. Utilizing your expertise in learning principles, you will guide our team of eLearning developers to create innovative and interactive learning experiences, incorporating elements such as scenario-based activities and gamification. Your organizational skills, creativity, and ability to simplify complex concepts will be instrumental in ensuring the effectiveness and usability of our courses.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with SMEs to understand and analyse maritime content, learning objectives, and training requirements.
• Develop detailed storyboards that outline the structure, flow, and interactions of each course, incorporating learning principles.
• Provide guidance and support to the team of eLearning developers throughout the course development process.
• Identify the most suitable learning approaches, instructional strategies, and multimedia elements for each course.
• Transform technical scripts and complex concepts into easily understandable and engaging content for seafarers.
• Incorporate innovative instructional design techniques, such as scenario-based activities, gamification, and interactive assessments.
• Coordinate with cameramen, studios, and actors to facilitate video production for the purposes of the courses.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in instructional design, eLearning technologies, and maritime industry practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Instructional Designer, preferably in the eLearning industry or maritime training field.
• Deep understanding of learning principles and instructional design models.
• Familiarity with the maritime industry, seafarer training requirements, and related regulations (e.g.: STCW).
• Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (articulate storyline, rise, etc), learning management systems, and multimedia software (photoshop, illustrator, premier pro, etc).
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Creative mindset and the ability to transform complex concepts into engaging and visually appealing learning materials.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required.
• Experience working in a multinational environment is highly desirable.
