On behalf of MAP Legal Aliant, we are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Litigation Lawyer to join the firm’s expanding team of professionals, in Nicosia.

The position

The successful candidate will be expected, amongst other, of:

  • Providing legal advice to international and Cyprus clients on EU and Cyprus law matters.
  • Appearing before the Cyprus courts and dealing with the full spectrum of court hearings of civil nature.
  • Drafting of litigation court documents, legal opinions, contracts and other legal documents.
  • Good knowledge of the justice platform.
  • Guiding administrators and personnel under the Litigation department and ensuring their compliance with internal rules and policies.
  • Attending meetings and escorting clients to meetings, court, migration or any other government institution when required.
  • Attending seminars and conferences organized by our international network of law firms when requested by the employer.
  • Maintaining good relationships with clients and/or agents and/or associates locally and abroad.
  • Travelling abroad for the furtherance of the goals of the firm.
  • All other duties a lawyer is allowed to do under Chapter 2. Article 2(1).

Requirements:

  • University degree in Law (LLB) with at least Upper Second Class Honours.
  • Postgraduate Degree.
  • Member of the Cyprus Bar Association.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience (preferably not in criminal law)
  • Excellent command of the English and Greek languages, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multitask, work efficiently, follow procedures, and use critical judgment.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Interested in working as part of a dedicated team and being able to participate in teamwork.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High professional standards and work ethics.
  • Delivering the Litigation Tasks without any guidance and supervision.
