CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an expanding International Group of Companies that offers clients a wide range of Logistical & Distribution services, including Ocean & Air Freight, Road Transportation & Warehousing, we are seeking to recruit an Accounting Officer to join their growing team based in Limassol. Reporting to the Accounting & Finance Manager, the successful applicant will play a key role ensuring the smooth running of the finance function, including the preparation of monthly accounting records, management accounting, as well as ongoing debtor and creditor reconciliations. You will ideally be educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field and possess approximately 5+ years of proven experience working in a relevant role.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the monthly accounting records of Group entities ensuring their accuracy and completeness.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and execution of payments.
  • Ensure that the accounting entries adhere to IAS/IFRS and that all the required files are properly maintained and are up to date.
  • Perform or/and review bank reconciliations on a daily basis.
  • Debtors/Creditors reconciliations.
  • On an ongoing basis, review, monitor, implement and recommend improvements/ enhancements to accounting and reporting procedures.
  • Assist/coordinate with the Head of Accounting & Finance for the annual external and internal audits as well as for the regular reporting requirements.
  • Take on any other relevant duties and assignments as directed by the Head of Accounting and Finance.
  • Internal contact with the sales team, freight forwarding team, top management.
  • External contact with auditors and lawyers as required.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Any relevant accounting qualification/certification is desirable, but not essential.
  • 5+ years of previous experience in a relevant accounting and bookkeeping role is essential.
  • Any previous team leadership and/or supervisory experience will be considered a plus.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Customer centric attitude.
  • High level of communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility to adapt to changing work demands.
  • Strong organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
