CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a rapidly expanding Group of Companies that develop cutting-edge Fintech products for the Financial Services sector, we are seeking to recruit a Financial Accountant with experience in the Forex industry to join their growing team based in Nicosia. The successful applicant will be responsible for a variety of accounting and bookkeeping tasks for the Group, including managing payroll, preparing and filing VAT returns in compliance with applicable regulations, as well as conducting reconciliations of financial statements, accounts, and transactions. You will ideally be educated to degree level in either Accounting, Finance, Economics or another relevant field and possess approximately 3+ years of proven accounting and bookkeeping experience, with some practical exposure to the Forex industry.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Paying bills and ensuring timely payments to vendors and service providers.
- Managing payroll and salary processing accurately and efficiently.
- Performing bookkeeping tasks, including maintaining accurate financial records.
- Preparing and filing VAT returns in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Conducting reconciliations of financial statements, accounts, and transactions.
- Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Collaborating with auditors during internal and external audits.
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a similar field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Some previous experience of working in the Forex industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in financial records.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
