CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a rapidly expanding and highly innovative company operating within the FMCG Sector, we are seeking to recruit a Country Manager to join their expanding Team in Nicosia. The successful applicant will organize and oversee all business operations, people and ventures and be responsible for the overall success of the business. You will deliver growth across your market through entrepreneurial drive and top-class leadership. Through this role, you will lead a diverse team, through commercial and operational excellence in order to achieve competitive and challenging goals in a time-sensitive environment. You will own the end-to-end strategy and execution, and be responsible for fostering a strong local culture and driving engagement. In order to qualify for this role, you will need to possess a proven track record of 10+ years in a similar role, ideally from the Food & Beverage and/or hospitality sectors. Additionally, you should have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Greek.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Own the development and execution of the company’s strategy and establish the team’s strategic objectives in alignment with the overall goals.
- Have full P&L responsibility and own business objectives.
- Analyze business and financial data to make key decisions for the country.
- Enable and drive business growth opportunities by creating, owning and executing commercial and operational strategies.
- Drive ongoing process improvements, implement scalable and well documented processes and procedures to help achieve operational efficiencies based on a continuous improvement mindset, while ensuring the best customer experience.
- Oversee directly multiple departments and areas of responsibility: Sales, Marketing, Logistics, E-commerce.
- Manage risks and provide solutions to prevent issues.
- Collaborate closely with the Central and Regional teams on the long-term strategy for the country.
- Lead, guide and develop a highly engaged and talented team of 150+ individuals.
- Hire top talent, help them perform, grow and develop as professionals.
- Establish and promote a culture of trust, team spirit and empowerment through your people-management skills to ensure successful results.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key partners.
- Establish and maintain relationships with regulators, unions and local authorities.
- Ensure that the company runs with legality and conformity to established regulations.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Educated to BSc Degree level - Engineering background would be considered an asset, MBA/MSc would be preferable but not essential.
- 10+ years of experience in fast-paced environments (startups, investment banking, consulting firms, e-commerce - hospitality & restaurant business a plus).
- Proven ability to lead, coach and inspire a multidisciplinary, cross-functional team to achieve high results and deliverables.
- High commercial, operational and strategic acumen; logical and quick thinking, with the ability to take into consideration multiple dependencies.
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to lead negotiations for key strategic contracts and partnerships.
- Demonstrable experience in identifying, initiating and executing highly successful strategic and/or operational initiatives, including new processes and procedures.
- Ability to synthesize data and make informed decisions.
- Proactive approach to potential challenges/opportunities combined with continuous improvement and results driven mindset.
- Ability to learn fast and adapt strategies and tactics to the dynamic world of exceptionally fast delivery.
- Strong sense of ownership; you have a natural bias for action, always pushing for things to happen.
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills in both English and Greek.
