About the Position

The Centre is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team in a key position. The successful candidate will assist in developing good working relationships to collaborate with governmental services and industry.

More specific responsibilities:

  1. In collaboration with the Technology Transfer function, to maintain and expand relationships with existing and new clients and partners of CYENS.

  1. To identify and report on business and strategic partnership opportunities in target markets including Cyprus, EU+, MENA and US.

  1. To serve as a liaison between CYENS and industrial partners to ensure customer success from partnership proposal to development and implementation.

  1. To represent CYENS at conferences, trade fairs and networking events and ensure that all leads arising from the above are correctly entered in the CRM and actioned upon.

  1. To maximize new business development opportunities.

  1. In collaboration with the Technology Transfer function to see all industrial partnerships through to completion and evaluate their success using suitable metrics.

  1. To lead the way in building sustainable revenue streams.

General qualifications and requirements

  1. University Degree (Bachelor’s Degree or Degree of a level equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree) or Diploma or Certificate, study title, qualifications or relevant training acquired in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a field relevant to the topics of CYENS.

  1. Previous working experience in outreach and partnerships management roles for 5 years.

  1. Knowledge of engineering and scientific areas relevant to CYENS is desirable.

  1. Business Development experience / exposure is key as well as experience working with industry or local government.

  1. Good business sense. Experience in negotiating commercial contracts with relevant industry sectors, ideally related to the licensing and deployment of software products is desirable.

  1. Language requirements: Excellent written and oral English-language skills will be required.

  1. For non-EU applicants a work permit will be required

  1. Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently.  

  1. Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, having the ability to deal confidently and politely with enquiries.  

  1. Very good analytical skills coupled with attention to detail.  

  1. Dynamic, adaptable, hands-on and results driven.

  1. A team player with an ability to work independently and under pressure. 

  1. High levels of commitment, energy, and drive.

  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

CYENS Centre of Excellence is focusing on Interactive media, Smart systems and Emerging technologies aiming to empower knowledge and technology transfer in Cyprus and wider region. It is a joint venture between the three public universities of Cyprus: the University of Cyprus, the Cyprus University of Technology, and the Open University of Cyprus, the Municipality of Nicosia, and two renowned international partners, the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, Germany, and, the University College London, United Kingdom.
