CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a CySEC licenced investment firm with expanding operations in Limassol, we are seeking to recruit a Junior Accounting Officer to join their growing team. Working as part of an established Finance Team, the successful applicant will help to manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations, as well as executing payments via various financial institutions and ensure timely and accurate processing. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics or another relevant field who possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency in using accounting software and the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel. Fluency in both verbal and written Greek & English is a must.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
- Collaborate with the senior accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Execute payments via various financial institutions and ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Maintain a high level of trustworthiness and integrity when handling company funds and sensitive financial information.
- Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
- Participate in special financial projects and conduct necessary financial analyses.
- Maintain precise financial records and documentation.
- Stay informed about industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
Key Skills/Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance, Economics, Business Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with Sage and Methodos software is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of practices within the finance industry is a plus.
