We are currently seeking to recruit a professional individual for the position of Data Protection Officer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, developing and implementing data protection policies, and advising on all data protection matters that concern our organization under the applicable local and EU laws.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Assuming the role of Data Protection Officer of the group.
- Acting as the primary liaison between the organization and relevant data protection supervisory authorities.
- Staying updated with developments in data protection laws and regulations and taking the lead in implementing necessary changes.
- Providing guidance and advice to the organization on governance, accountability, and non-compliance risks.
- Conducting training sessions for employees on all pertinent GDPR requirements and code of practice guidelines.
- Preparing responses and completing questionnaires articulating the group's stance on data protection inquiries.
- Assessing and negotiating data protection provisions in agreements with quests, partners, and potential collaborators.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including the, IT, legal, marketing, and management to embed data protection into various business processes and cultures.
- Conducting routine GDPR audits and assessments to ensure adherence to data protection regulations.
- Drafting, maintaining, and updating data protection policies, notices, and intra-group data processing agreements.
- Keeping records of all company-wide data processing activities.
- Responding to data subjects to educate them on how their personal data is stored, secured, and utilized by the company.
- Addressing access requests from data subjects as needed.
- Assisting in Performing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
- Evaluating data processing agreements. Developing templates for data collection, assisting with data mapping, and general treatment of private data.
- Providing assistance and guidance in designing data flows and security
Experience and Qualifications
- A university degree in a relevant field (e.g., Law, Information Security, Computer Science).
- Expertise in National and European data protection laws and practices, including an in-depth understanding of the GDPR.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in both written and verbal Greek and English languages is required.
