The Nines, a new five-star luxury lifestyle hotel, will open its doors this spring in the vibrant and cosmopolitan Agia Napa, Cyprus. With the casual luxury approach, we aim to provide all our guests with an exceptional and memorable experience in a relaxed yet indulgent atmosphere.
We are currently looking to recruit a passionate and creative Pastry Cook who will report to the Executive Chef. Below are the main responsibilities of this position:
Develop and when deemed necessary update the pastry menu in collaboration with the Executive Chef
Create custom-made and unique desserts for our menu
Maintain up to date the recipe library at all times
Accurately estimate the pastry costs and when needed make the necessary adjustments without compromising the hotel’s food quality standards
Monitor the stock of ingredients to ensure sufficient supplies at all times
Coordinate the daily operation of the kitchens including sufficient number of employees, cleanliness and tidiness of the facilities as per the hotel’s guidelines and health, safety, hygiene and quality standards
Ensure adherence to all health, safety and hygiene regulations and standards
Ensure that the kitchen facilities and equipment are maintained properly at all times
Supervise, develop and motivate the pastry team
The ideal professional shall have the following qualifications, experiences, and skills:
Diploma or University degree in Culinary Arts
Minimum 3 years of working experience in a similar role, preferably in 5-star hotels or in a high end restaurant
Knowledge of gluten-free, vegan, sugar free cakes and ice cream will be considered an advantage
Excellent knowledge of the HACCP requirements, health, safety, and hygiene requirements
Very good knowledge of Greek & English languages
Guest-oriented mindset
Excellent planning and organization skills
Creative and innovative mindset
Ability to work under pressure
Attention to detail, especially in pastry presentation, quality and taste
Flexibility & adaptability
