Job Description

A database administrator (DBA) is responsible for the performance, integrity and security of a database. Also, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintenance and operational support of our entire portfolio of databases. Maintain reliability, stability and data integrity of the databases. Provide support in the administration, backup, integrity and security of various Oracle databases. Responsible for database tasks and troubleshooting. Continually assess, improve, and optimize our current database environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and provide operational support-troubleshooting for our entire portfolio of databases with the aim to maintain reliability, stability, and data integrity
• Provide support in the administration, backup, integrity, and security of Oracle databases
• Gatekeeper of all databases ensuring all database changes follow the change management procedures and the security policies
• Responsible for database deployments
• Address ad-hoc database requests to support the business and application teams in a timely manner
• Continually assess, improve, and optimize our current database environment.
• A good understanding of RDBMS concepts and strong working experience in Oracle
• Proficient in monitoring and troubleshooting database activity and performance. · Ability to develop procedure documents and maintain detailed database related documents
• Good understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts
• Ability to understand and integrate new technologies
• Ability to review PL/SQL code and provide guidance to colleagues
• Python and git/version control knowledge will be considered as advantages.

Qualifications

University education not mandatory. Technical training or certification on Oracle would be considered as an advantage.
