THE COMPANY
On behalf of our client, a reputable Group of Companies operating in real estate development, hospitality and property management sectors in Cyprus and abroad, we seek to recruit an energetic and high calibre professional for the position of Group Chief Financial Officer, to be based in Limassol.
THE POSITION
The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing and driving financial performance, operational efficiency and the overall growth of the Group, working closely with the Managing Director.
More specifically, the responsibilities of the successful candidate will be the following, amongst others:
- Monitor and evaluate the Group’s financial position and potential, and provide sound financial advice and recommendations to the Managing Director so as to support strategic decision-making
- Develop and implement policies and processes in relation to the financial management and operational activities of the Group
- Develop and execute comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with the Group's strategic goals
- Define and monitor financial related Key Performance Indicators according to the strategic priorities of the Group and provide related reports to the Managing Director
- Oversee the timely preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts, statutory financial statements and ensure adherence to tax obligations
- Liaise with the Managing Director in order to establish corporate budgets and forecasts, ensure that these are met and take proactive actions when necessary
- Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with the related professional standards
- Analyze financial related data in an effort to identify and address financial risks and opportunities for the Group utilizing effective risk management strategies
- Monitor the Group’s investment and fundraising plans, review due diligence studies and initiate corrective actions when necessary
- Negotiate, execute and monitor business transactions, agreements and activities
- Maintain a deep knowledge of all the relevant sectors related to the Group’s operations
- Establish, manage and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders in an effort to establish strategic long-term relationships
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards, including GAAP and IFRS
- Drive the Group’s operational efficiency through the development and management of high performing accounting and finance, legal and human resources teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning
REQUIREMENTS
- Professional qualification ACA / ACCA / CPA
- Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree from a reputable university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or in a related field
- At least ten (10) years of proven experience in financial leadership roles ideally in sectors such as real estate development, property management, hospitality, etc.
- Experience in an international setting will be considered an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and financial reporting frameworks
- Demonstrated leadership ability, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Strong business and financial management acumen
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and effectively manage competing priorities
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, both written and verbal
- Excellent computer literacy with advanced Microsoft Office skills (including exposure with computerized accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel)
