HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER
CTC-ARI Airports Ltd, the Company managing the Travel Retail & Duty-Free operation at Larnaca and Paphos International Airports, invites applications for the recruitment of a Health & Safety Officer on a fixed-term (7 months) contract based at Larnaca Airport.
Purpose of Role
The Health & Safety Officer manages all health and safety related matters across the organisation, including but not limited to assessing risk, monitoring implementation of corrective actions & measures and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety laws, regulations, policies, and processes.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure that the Health and Safety (H&S) Management System is adhered to and relevant records are maintained
- Ensure that the Company meets statutory obligations in all aspects relating to health & safety at work, including training and reporting
- Prepare H&S risk assessments as necessary
- Conduct regular H&S inspections in the workplace for risk identification
- Monitor the implementation of protective and preventive measures identified through H&S inspections and/or risk assessments
- Organize and/or conduct H&S related training programmes for employees
- Submit recommendations and suggestions to improve H&S levels in the workplace
- Investigate and report as necessary all incidents, accidents and dangerous occurrences at the workplace
- Submit work permit applications in line with operational and other requirements
- Work closely with the Safety Representatives and participate in the activities of the H&S committees as necessary
- Increase H&S awareness at all levels across the organization
- Act as liaison with all related governmental bodies and regulating authorities
- Investigate and report as necessary official complaints and/or comments received about hazardous working conditions
Requirements of the Role
- Minimum 130 hours of training on Health & Safety related areas as specified by the Department of Labor Inspection as required for the certification of Officers on H&S at work issues.
- At least 5 years recent and relevant experience in a similar role
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both in English and Greek
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on own initiative, accurately and with attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask and prioritize daily workload
- Experience in conducting investigations and drafting reports
- Discretion and confidentiality
