THE COMPANY
On behalf of our client, a corporate services provider affiliated to a leading private equity Group, we seek to recruit a self-motivated and high calibre professional for the position of Accountant, to be based in Nicosia.
THE POSITION
The successful candidate will report to the Administrative Director of the Group and will actively assist in the preparation, maintenance and management of the accounting records of the Company while taking part in the reporting process of the Group.
More specifically, the candidate will be responsible for the below duties, among others:
Prepare accounting records, financial statements and other reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Prepare and submit quarterly VAT reports and monthly VIES reports
Liaise with the banks and other third parties to prepare daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations
Liaise with external auditors for the prompt preparation and submission of the annual financial statements
Apply closing procedures on an appropriate time basis
Resolve any pending general accounting issues
Develop and/or implement accounting policies and procedures that align with the Group’s / Company's goals and objectives
Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with professional standards, applicable laws, regulations and Group / Company policies
Provide support to the Group for the preparation of consolidated financial statements
Perform any other accounting duties as assigned by the Group
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance or in a related field
At least three (3) years of proven experience in a similar position
Knowledge of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Cyprus Tax principles
Familiarisation with ERP systems
Analytical thinking and attention to detail Organisational skills, ability to work under pressure and effectively manage multiple tasks
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Advanced interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent knowledge of English language, both verbal and written
Computer literate (Microsoft Office Packages) with Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Knowledge of an accounting software will be considered an advantage
REMUNERATION
