CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, The Bank of Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit an Infrastructure Engineer (Virtualisation) to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining virtualization infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. We are seeking skilled and motivated candidates who specialise in both Windows and Linux OS, as well as Virtualization platforms. You should be educated to degree level in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other closely related fields, and possess approximately 3+ years of proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer with a focus on Virtualization (Windows and Linux). Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Greek & English are essential. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Design, deploy, and manage virtualization solutions for both Windows and Linux environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess infrastructure requirements and implement virtualization strategies accordingly.
• Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and migrations to enhance virtualized environments.
• Monitor and optimize virtual machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
• Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard virtualized environments against potential threats.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate virtualization solutions with other infrastructure components.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams on virtualization-related matters.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend continuous improvements.

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Any professional certification related to the job position will be considered an advantage.
• At least 3 years proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer with a focus on virtualization.
• Proficient in deploying and managing virtualization technologies such as VMware and Citrix.
• Solid understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
• Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS etc.) and containerization technologies.
• Experience in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation.
• Knowledge of storage and network configurations in virtualized environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Structure analytical and critical thinking.
• Very good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time, multiple tasks and work under pressure.
• Ability to take initiatives and make decisions.
• Ability to work well within a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Greek & English.
