CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a specialized Alternative Investment Manager with significant experience and investments in the London real-estate market, we are seeking to recruit an Assistant Loan Officer to join their growing Underwriting Department based in Nicosia. A junior-level position, the successful candidate will assist in the execution of loan documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements, as well as inputting and updating loan related data into the system with a high level of accuracy. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Economics, or another related field, who are proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for maintaining and updating spreadsheets. Previous working experience of 2+ years in Banking, Finance or Customer Service roles will be considered a plus and excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English are a must. Our client offers a highly attractive remuneration and benefits package based on skills and experience, including 13th salary and Provident Fund. Working hours are from 10:00 – 19:00 Monday to Friday, and from 10:00 – 15:30 each Friday to mirror UK working hours. Any existing knowledge of the London area will be considered a significant advantage. 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Assess Loan Applications in terms of credit history, financial status, and property evaluation.
  • Input and update loan related data into the system with high level of accuracy.
  • Ensure loan documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Keep detailed records of underwriting decisions and processes.
  • Work closely with loan officers and stakeholders to gather necessary information.
  • Instructing / updating third parties (solicitors, valuers, insurance brokers etc.).
  • Monitoring of loan portfolio (payments, redemptions, extensions etc.).
  • Ensuring that all communication is carried out within the agreed timeframes.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance and Economics or any other related field.
  • 2-3 years previous working experience in banking, finance or customer service roles will be considered as an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for maintaining and updating spreadsheets.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Excellent command of Greek and English language.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
