The Client:
Our client OPAP, a leading gaming company in Greece and Cyprus and one of the most renowned in its industry worldwide is expanding its operations in Cyprus and is looking to recruit a Sportsbook Manager.
The Position:
The Sportsbook Manager will be a part of the Commercial team and will report to the Chief Commercial Officer. The position's basic vision is to define and drive the development, improvement, management, overall value proposition and marketing positioning of the assigned product portfolio through the full ownership of the relevant P&L, the monitoring and guiding of product performance and the execution of roll-out and go-to-market plans
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops the strategy of retail and online sports betting products, in line with the Trading Team
Establishes the processes and procedures of the sports betting products to enable the accurate, effective and efficient operation, according to regulations and OPAP operating standards
Monitors the performance and the P&L responsibility of Sportsbook in Retail & Online and develops performance forecasts
Proposes the performance target for the Sports Betting Team and leads their achievement, implementing corrective actions to improve sales and profitability
Cooperates with trading operations and ensures that the acceptance of bets for the online trading channels are following the risk standards and policy
Handles the relationship and manages the establishment of commercial agreements with vendors for the introduction of retail and online sportsbook products to the market
Cooperates with Marketing Team for the development and implementation of appropriate go-to-market and roll-out plans, promotions and marketing material to increase sales, market competitiveness and customer retention
Monitors the market, so as to be up to date on improvements and advancements in the assigned product portfolio or regulatory framework
Evaluates market trends, customer preferences, performance indicators and leads the selection, development and improvement of the sports betting portfolio and features
Participates in the development and applies acquisition strategy and tactics for the attraction of new customers
Manages the establishment of feasibility studies for the development of new products or the improvement of the existing ones and after approval monitors their effective implementation
Provides clarifications to internal stakeholders regarding online product brand characteristics for the development of suitable marketing material
Develops affiliate campaign plans, commercial activities and loyalty programs to consumers, based on product characteristics, events calendar, sportsbook online customer data and market trends, aiming to increase ROI and customer engagement
Ensures proper monitoring and controlling of the daily operational processes of online assets and proposes improvements when needed
Manages the members of own team, providing the necessary support and feedback for the development of their skills and achievement of set goals
Responds to ad-hoc assignments to meet business needs that are not specifically or previously described and are related to the content of current job and the personal skills and capabilities
Skills/ Qualifications/ Experience:
BSc in Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, or relevant field
MSc in relevant topic
8+ years of hands-on experience in the management of commercial products within dynamic business sectors (betting, gaming, retail, telecoms)
Excellent knowledge of marketing and product promotion techniques
Strong knowledge of the sportsbook processes, techniques, and regulations
Excellent knowledge of the online product operations and platforms
Hands-on experience in the management of product P&L and marketing activities
Very good analytical skills with strong attention to details
Results an achievement-oriented mindset
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Teamwork mentality and excellent interpersonal skills
Strong people management skills
IT literacy with ability to understand and leverage technologies in favor of product operations and performance
Excellent knowledge of MS Office

The position is for the OPAP's offices in Nicosia, Cyprus.
