Our Advisory Team provides a full spectrum of Privacy Services such as Privacy Assessments, Privacy Transformation, Data Protection Outsourcing Services and Data Breach Management. The role of a Data Protection Advisor provides strong candidates with the opportunity to work on exciting projects locally but most importantly within the GT international network and play a role in successful and growing business unit whilst working closely with colleagues throughout the firm in a rapidly growing area of the business.

Experienced candidates will ideally have a professional services background with experience of providing practical advice and solutions to companies in meeting regulatory and standards-based challenges, for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Main Responsibilities:

As a consultant in the privacy team, you will deliver excellence for clients, including:

Working on large international and national privacy transformation engagements - these projects often involve working with Grant Thornton colleagues as well as client teams and third-party contractors

Producing deliverables of high quality on multiple small and medium size engagement simultaneously, often managing your time whilst working with multiple engagement managers these include data protection assessments, privacy impact assessments and privacy implementations.

  • Supporting Cyber Security client engagements as required
  • Performance of Data Protection Impact Assessments
  • Documenting Records of Processing activities
  • Supporting in the development of data protection policies and procedures
  • Personal Data breach management
  • Subject rights requests handling
  • Performance of GDPR Compliance Assessments
  • Performance of Privacy Audits
  • Performance of third-party risk assessments.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to client inquiries in relation to Data Protection matters
  • People Development

Required Academy and Professional experience:

  • None or up-to three years' experience working in a Data Protection / Information Security related field.
  • Strong academic and/or professional qualifications (Academic degree can be from various principles such as Computing, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Law, Business Operations, Risk Management etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrable experience in a client facing role.
  • Strong focus on quality and commitment to excellence.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.

Desired experience:

  • Relevant data protection qualification will be considered as an advantage (e.g., CIPP, CIPT, CIPM CDPSE).
  • For experienced hires, experience is required in consulting, preferably in I.T., Cybersecurity, Privacy / Data Protection or Regulatory and Risk Management.
  • Ideally delivered elements of a privacy related change programme.
