Position: Risk, Governance and Training Coordinator – Quality Risk Management Team | Financial Advisory Department

The Quality Risk ManagementTeam of the Financial Advisory Department of Deloitte Middle East & Cyprus is seeking to recruit a Risk, Governance and Training Coordinator, at the level of Assistant Manager, based in our Nicosia or Limassol office.

The Risk, Governance and Training Coordinator Role

The role requires working within a demanding and fast paced environment, liaising with practitioners across the business units and jurisdictions to assist with the Financial Advisory risk policies and procedures, as well as supporting on compliance with regulatory and risk management tasks, and reporting and support on ad-hoc projects. Occasional travel may also be required for this role.

The successful candidate’s key responsibilities include, among others:

Day to Day

  • Support the Quality Risk Management (QRM) Experienced Manager with Queries Management.
  • Conduct laptop reviews to ensure compliance with document management, data retention and confidentiality policies.
  • Conduct monthly monitoring of projects that are completed.
  • Compile timely reports of the outcome of the monitoring exercise and support the QRM Experienced Manager with reporting to stakeholders.
  • Support the staff and legal team by maintaining commercial licenses, support with renewing commercial license, etc.
  • Support the staff with document stamping requests ahead of proposal and contract submissions.

Risk Management

  • Monitoring ‘Risk Instances’ for quarterly reporting to Risk Leaders.
  • Support the QRM Experienced Manager by liaising with various internal teams to update ‘Risk Instances’ for quarterly reporting to Risk Leaders.
  • Support on document retention and destruction process (hard copies and electronic documentation) across all Deloitte Middle East Financial Advisory jurisdictions.
  • Support the QRM Experienced Manager to coordinate Risk Papers as part of promotions.

Governance

  • Support the QRM Experienced Manager with Risk Committee meetings, and other quarterly stakeholder risk meetings.
  • Support the QRM Experienced Manager to follow up with internal teams and ensure compliance with action plans from internal reviews.
  • Support the QRM Experienced Manager to complete annual maturity assessments.
  • Be the data champion from QRM in relation to data governance across the Financial Advisory Business.

Reporting

  • Support the QRM Team on External & Internal Audit information requests.
  • Support the QRM Team on Regulatory Inspection requests.
  • Support the QRM Experienced Manager with monitoring activities.
  • Support the QRM Team on internal reporting matters.
  • Compiling and formulating reports for regulatory submissions, such as Data Privacy Submissions, Cyber Security Questionnaires, Outsourcing questionnaires, etc.
  • Be responsible for and maintain the calendar of QRM and regulatory submissions.
  • Liaise with various internal teams and subject matter leads to co-ordinate and compile information in relation to such submissions.

Training and Communication

  • Support the QRM Team with training (monthly and ad hoc).
  • Support the QRM Team new joiner consultations.
  • Support the QRM Team to draft firm wide QRM communications.

Projects

  • Ad-hoc project work on QRM initiatives.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • 3-4 years’ work experience in financial services, with an understanding of financial, regulatory, compliance and risk matters.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel (including pivot tables), PowerPoint, Tableau, Power BI.
  • Analytics skills and ability to conduct basic data analysis to draw conclusions for analysis.
  • Ability to perform data clean-up and prepare data for analysis with the proper format, consistency, and reconciliation.
  • Ability to create basic reporting dashboards, and to represent data analysis and findings in a clear visual format, that indicates trends and patterns.
  • Strategic thinking and good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to exercise appropriate level of judgement.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Communication skills – Ability to work with staff cross the different business units and across different grades.
  • File management skills and understanding the importance of confidentiality, data security and privacy.
  • Ability to learn and upskill, and apply knowledge learned consistently.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written. Knowledge of the Arabic language will be considered an advantage.
