Role Overview:

As the Finance Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial and management reporting functions of the school. Entities in the scope: The Island Private School, The Island Charitable Foundation and other legal entities that are / will be included in Educational Business Unit of the Island Group

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial reporting and accounting:
   • Prepare and consolidate accurate financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
   • Oversee day-to-day financial accounting activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
   • Coordinate and manage the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors.
2. Budgeting and forecasting:
   • Collaborate with the CFO to develop and monitor the annual budget.
   • Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
   • Implement robust forecasting processes to ensure accurate financial projections.
3. Compliance and internal controls:
   • Ensure adherence to financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
   • Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards and implement necessary adjustments.
   • Manage the implementation of internal controls to mitigate financial reporting risks
4. Cash flow management:
   • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the school's financial stability.
   • Suggest effective cash management strategies and forecasts.
5. Submit tax reporting in the relevant authorities
6. Establish effective cross-functional collaboration
7. Manage accounting team

Qualifications and Experience:

• Professional qualification in finance/accounting (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).
• Extensive experience in accounting, financial and management reporting
• Good recent knowledge about Cyprus taxation (VAT, CIT, Payroll related deductions & contributions)
• Experience in team management (3+ people), but at the same time readiness to work hand-on
• Experience in automation of accounting processes
• Fluent Greek and English
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Hybrid working format (possible arrangement of 2 days working from home after probation period)
• Salary range: 3,500 – 4,500 gross, depends on qualification and experience and achievement of performance goals upon completion of probation period)
