Responsibilities

  • Reviewing tax compliance work for a wide portfolio of clients (tax computations, assessment of areas of tax risks, preparation of tax position schedules)
  • Oversee the efforts of multiple client engagements, plan, execute, direct, and complete tax assignments in a wide variety of industries and jurisdictions as well as in complicated areas of Cyprus tax laws.
  • Identify and present direct tax opportunities and risks according to tax legislation, common practice, and double tax treaties.
  • Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of company income tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms
  • Work closely with Directors, Senior Managers and Managers of all departments in order to enhance client service and facilitate new business development.
  • Prepare letters/reports/advanced tax rulings of opinion in relation to Taxation matters that will need to be submitted to the clients and/or to the Cyprus Tax Department.
  • Prepare and present seminars to both clients and colleagues
  • Prepare and or assist with the preparation of Transfer Pricing studies for clients in compliance with the Law and Regulations and relevant OECD Guidelines
  • Perform economic and benchmarking analysis in order to determine the arm’s length price of financial and trading transactions
  • Stay up to date with all developments in the field of taxation
  • Contribute to a strong client relationship through positive interactions with client personnel
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the management

Requirements

  • Holder of a university degree (BSc) with grade 2:1 or equivalent in any discipline with a background in law, taxation, accounting, finance, economics or a related field
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA) or ADIT or other professional qualification or credential demonstrating knowledge in the field of taxation Extensive knowledge and proficiency in auditing software, including Caseware, and excellent knowledge of MS Office programs
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in an audit firm, tax practice or related consultancy/advisory firm, 3 of them in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Cyprus tax legislation and principles of International Taxation
  • Strong knowledge of tax compliance and procedures for corporations
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Strong project management, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and abilities to take initiative
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Greek and English language
  • Knowledge of Russian or other foreign languages is considered an advantage
  • IT literate
