JOB PURPOSE

The Hostess will man the reception desk and telephone operations, and will ensure that all guests are welcomed, courteously seated and helped in the most efficient and effective manner. The Hostess will also ensure the smooth running of the Restaurant’s flows of service and will assist Head Waiters and Waiters in their sections, ensuring correct procedures and standards are maintained. The Hostess will deliver the highest possible standards of service and will be pro-active in maintaining and/or improving the Restaurants’ profitability in accordance with Hotel policies, procedures and standards.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To follow correct hotel service standards, monitor and strive for continuous improvement
  • To project a positive, professional and friendly image to the guests and employees
  • To keep her work station well organised and neat
  • To ensure that the Restaurant logbook is updated daily and signed
  • To ensure her actions, duties and opening and closing duties are carried out in accordance with the pre-set procedures
  • To welcome customers and escort them correctly and speedily in the most courteous way.
  • To ensure that all customer requests are correctly and speedily actioned and reported immediately to her superiors if assistance is required to resolve any situations
  • To inform superiors about incidents, observations and developments that affect Guests, the Hotel’s activities and her post
  • To attend training sessions and seminars as required
  • To attend and contribute to regular departmental communications meetings/briefings

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Graduate of a secondary school
  • Must speak, read, and write Greek or English. Knowledge of additional languages will be considered an additional advantage
  • One year’s experience in similar work
  • Pleasant and friendly personality
  • Very good communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must possess a positive attitude, pleasant and friendly personality, fair, reliable and polite
