L. Loucaides - Theophanous LLC is recruiting for the position of Commercial Lawyer for our office in Paphos, Cyprus.
Responsibilities:
1. Drafting and Reviewing Contracts: Create and review a wide range of commercial contracts (e.g., sale, purchase, licensing, and service agreements).
2. Advising on Corporate Transactions: Provide legal counsel on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions.
3. Negotiating Terms: Lead negotiations with clients, suppliers, or partners to ensure favorable terms for the company.
4. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with commercial operations and provide recommendations for risk reduction.
5. Regulatory Updates: Stay updated on changes in commercial laws and advise on necessary adjustments.
6. Legal Research: Conduct thorough research to support business decisions and legal strategies.
Required Qualifications:
Educational Background: Law degree (LLB) from a recognized institution, with a focus on commercial or corporate law.
Bar Admission: Must be admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in commercial or corporate law, preferably within a law firm or in-house legal team.
Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate contracts and resolve disputes.
Analytical Thinking: Excellent legal research and analytical skills to understand and apply complex laws.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly, both in writing and verbally.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing documents and agreements.
Knowledge of Local and International Law: Familiarity with the laws and regulations governing commercial activities in the relevant markets.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to offer strategic legal advice and solve complex issues.
Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple cases or projects at the same time and meet deadlines.
